The Director of the Association for Culture, Education and Communication (ACEC), Magdaléna Rothová, accepted an invitation to participate in a panel discussion marking the 10th anniversary of Teach’s work in Slovakia. The anniversary event took place in Bratislava and brought together more than 400 members of the Teach 500 community – alumni of the Teach Next programme, current participants, partners and supporters.
Magdaléna Rothová spoke in the panel discussion entitled “Is It Possible to Deliver Inclusive Education in a Diverse Society?”, which explored both the challenges and opportunities of inclusive education in the context of social inequalities and intergenerational poverty.
“Thank you for the invitation. Teach is carrying out systematic and highly professional work in Slovakia that has a tangible impact on children and on the education system as a whole. I am particularly pleased that several Teach Next alumni have become finalists of the Roma Spirit Awards. It demonstrates that when we connect quality, values and the courage to act, concrete stories of change emerge,” said Magdaléna Rothová.
The event was also attended by the founder of the global Teach For All movement, Wendy Kopp; former President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Čaputová; the founder of Teach in Slovakia, Stanislav Boledovič; and the CEO of Teach.sk, Ivana Boledovičová.
Over the past ten years, Teach has prepared 123 young leaders through its Teach Next programme, positively influencing the education of more than 20,000 children, including those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. The programme is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic.
“Slovakia has the capacity to address the challenges we face if we continue to connect expertise, field experience and the courage to pursue systemic change,” Rothová added.
ACEC has long collaborated with stakeholders in education, culture and civil society and, through programmes such as the Roma Spirit Awards, supports individuals and initiatives that deliver concrete solutions for a more inclusive Slovakia.
We congratulate Teach on its 10th anniversary and look forward to continued cooperation!
