Slovakia Presents: Central Europe Diversity Celebration

The project Slovakia Presents: Diversity celebration of Central Europe. This project was carried out on the occasion of the election of Slovakia as non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. The various events were held in Carnegie Hall, Anthology Film Archives, Columbia University and United Nations premises.

In 2005 we opened the culture-presenting project which was an exhibition of contemporary art at the United Nations in New York. Jozef Jankovič, Marián Meška, Otis Laubert, Milan Bočkay, Igor Minárik, Rudolf Sikora, Miroslav Cipár and Rudolf Fila presented their works.

20th November 2005 we organized a benefit concert featuring talented Roma musicians in Carnegie Hall in New York. The following artists took part: PatrikŽigmund (violin), Miroslav Herák (vibraphone), the Anyalai brothers, Janka Sendrei (vocals) and Richard Rikkon (piano).

The funds raised by the concert were awarded to Patrik Žigmund, an exceptionally talented 14 year old violinist, in order to support his studies at the Universität für  Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna.
