Online Webinar: Discrimination or Fair Support? Where Are the Boundaries for Employers?

We invite you to join a free online webinar dedicated to temporary special measures – a tool explicitly permitted under Slovak legislation to support disadvantaged groups in the labour market. Together, we will explore the boundary between legitimate support and discrimination, and discuss the practical options available to employers.

📅 Date: 24 June 2026, 9:00 a.m. (CET)

Can an employer intentionally support a specific group of people without violating the principle of equal treatment? When does such support constitute a legitimate effort to level the playing field, and when does it become discrimination?

Temporary special measures are among the instruments explicitly provided for by Slovak legislation. Despite this, they remain relatively underused in practice and often raise questions and concerns among employers.

During the webinar, participants will learn:

• what temporary special measures are – and what they are not,

• the legal framework governing their use and the circumstances in which they may be applied,

• practical steps employers can take,

• how to design and implement such measures in compliance with the principle of equal treatment,

• the most common questions and concerns encountered by experts in the field.

The PLAZA Project – Platform of Actors Active in the Employment of Disadvantaged Groups is funded by the Slovakia Programme 2021–2027 under the SocInoLab Call: Developing Innovation Ecosystems and Creating Tools to Support Social Innovation. The project is co-financed by the European Union and the State Budget of the Slovak Republic.
