[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]More than 200 participants from several European countries joined the online premiere of the documentary Roma Holocaust and Beyond \u2013 Ways of Hate and Humanity, organised within the international ROMDIEM project.<\/strong><\/em>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]The event attracted 351 registrations and brought together representatives of civil society organisations, educational institutions, academia, media, public institutions and Roma communities.<\/p>\n

The documentary explores the Roma Holocaust, one of the least known chapters of European history, and invites viewers to reflect on the consequences of prejudice, discrimination and hate, both in the past and in contemporary society.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Roma Holocaust remains one of the least recognised chapters of European history, despite the immense suffering endured by Roma communities during the Second World War. Through ROMDIEM, we seek not only to preserve and honour the memory of the victims of the Samudaripen, but also to create space for meaningful dialogue about the challenges that Roma people continue to face today. Education, remembrance and open discussion are essential tools for combating prejudice, promoting inclusion and strengthening democratic values across Europe,\u201d<\/em> said Kiki Tsaltampasi, Project Manager of the ROMDIEM Project and representative of PAL Network.<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cThe ROMDIEM documentary is both a tribute to those whose stories have too often remained unheard and an invitation to reflect on how we can build societies where diversity is respected, human rights are protected and no community is left invisible.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

For ACEC, participation in the project represents a continuation of its long-term commitment to inclusion, human rights and intercultural dialogue.<\/p>\n

Produced under the leadership of Independent Theatre Hungary, the film was created in cooperation with ROMDIEM partners from across Europe. Through expert insights, personal testimonies and contemporary reflections, it highlights the importance of historical memory, human dignity and democratic values.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Roma Holocaust is not only a story of the past. It is a reminder of where dehumanisation, exclusion and hatred can lead. Remembering these stories is essential if we want to build societies based on dignity, respect and equal human rights,\u201d<\/em> said Magdal\u00e9na Rothov\u00e1 from the Association for Culture, Education and Communication (ACEC).<\/p>\n

The online premiere marks an important milestone in the ROMDIEM project.
