In 2025, the Association for Culture, Education and Communication (ACEC) marks 26 years of its work. The anniversary will be celebrated with a special summer edition of the Roma Spirit Academy, combining expert discussion, an artistic programme, and a warm, friendly atmosphere.
The main highlight of the evening will be the discussion titled “Mušinka vs. Vašečka: Checkmate to Stereotypes”, during which two respected experts will share their perspectives on how stereotypes shape the social environment – and how we can respond through open dialogue, analytical approaches, and inclusive strategies.
The event will take place on August 5, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Albrecht House in Bratislava. Admission is free; registration is open until July 31 via rsvp@acec.sk.
Alexander Mušinka, anthropologist and researcher at the University of Prešov, focuses on public policies in the field of social inclusion, field research, and cultural understanding in the context of Roma communities. Michal Vašečka, sociologist and university lecturer, has long been engaged in topics related to civil society, extremism, social cohesion and Roma inclusion.
The festive atmosphere of the evening will be enhanced by special guests – singer Teri Čikoš and actress and presenter Karin Hajdu.
“We hope to celebrate this anniversary in the company of those who have long placed their trust in us and have accompanied us on the journey toward a more just and open society. We look forward to an evening full of inspiration, dialogue and the spirit of summer,” says the ACEC team.
The Roma Spirit Academy is a professional and community-based platform coordinated by ACEC. It organises a series of events across Slovakia with the aim of creating space for discussion, professional growth and networking. The Academy connects various professional and civic perspectives and builds bridges between experts, the public and communities. Its mission is to support an inclusive society based on respect, equality and mutual understanding.
